Swimming!

We filmed this about a month ago. He was so cute that night because of how much he was moving his arms and legs. He has yet to repeat the performance but I am always waiting for some kind of a show.

While I am at it, I just want to make a list of all the things I love about my little man.

1. The way he looks at me and smiles.

2. When he pulls himself off from breast-feeding and has little red marks on his lips and nose from being latched on.

3. When he laughs or puts on a show...you know, talking etc.

4. When he rolls onto his side.

5. The way he noisily sucks on his hands.

6. His chunky little legs.

I should have a list a lot longer than this, but right now I can't think of anymore, although I constantly tell everyone what I love about him. I love, love, love being a mom. My whole perspective on life changed when I saw him and every moment I have with him I am amazed at that little miracle. If there is one thing I don't understand it is how a person can be an atheist. One look at a precious child ought to be enough for anyone to become a believer. I know more than ever there is a God and that He loves us. I thank him everyday for letting me be a creator so that I can better understand love. If only the world knew that much.

Oh the places Isaac sleeps...

On Daddy's lap...

In Mommy's arms...

On the ground (he fell asleep by himself)...

Sitting up...

In Grandpa's arms...

On Grandpa Ronnie's chest...

In Great Grandma Helen's arms (while watching the Price is Right)...

In Auntie Sam's arms...

On Mommy's chest (love the feet)...

On a bean bag at Grammie's house...

In a suitcase...

On a blanket on the couch...

On Mommy's shoulder...

I wish I was talented enough to rhyme like Dr. Suess since the title of my blog was inspired by him. Oh well. Since it is summer we travelled a lot and I definitely missed some of the places he slept, like in Kristy's pack 'n play, in Blake's crib, in the crib in Grammie's house, in the car etc. Alas, I didn't think to do any of that. But I will mention that after Arizona we spent a week in California. It was so much fun! Kory and I got to go to the beach and while swimming we got really close to some dolphins! And we also went on walks, made really good food, and enjoyed the time with my parents. And thanks to my mom, we got Isaac on a schedule! Yahoo! He is such a champ and has been sleeping through the night since that week in July we spent in CA. Of course there have been two exceptions when he has woken up at 3:30 wanting to eat, but overall he is so amazing. He goes down between 8-9:30, just depending on how I feel, and sleeps until 6 or 7 in the morning. Thank you Mom!

Arizona!!!

I have to do a lot of posts all at once because I have not had a minute alone with a computer in quite a few weeks. As soon as we got home from our marathon date, I packed and we left the next morning for Arizona. I thought it was going to be a very difficult trip because of Isaac, but it went very well. He slept pretty much the whole way and I fed him at the stops we made along the way. The Saturday we got there we stayed in a hotel, but the rest of the week we were there, we stayed with my sister....It was so fun to see her and spend time with her because she had yet to meet Isaac and the last time I saw her, Ethan, Blake, and Sam was during Christmas. Anyways, Kristy and I took the boys to a little water park thing and it was so fun. To keep Isaac cool we put wet wash cloths on his legs.

As you can tell from my picture, I am atrociously white...but I had fun with Blake. He didn't like the water much, at least not the way it was coming out of the ground, but I did get him a little wet.

Ethan had a great time running through the water and he even made some friends there. I even ran through the water with him and almost biffed it! I slipped and caught myself with one hand. I was laughing so hard and I looked over to see if Kristy saw me...unfortunately she didn't. Alas, I just had a good laugh by myself.

Kristy, Blake, Isaac and I spent most of our time in the shade; except for the few moments we got in the water to cool ourselves off.

Another fun and cool thing I got to do was see a mission companion. We met at In 'n Out and had lunch together. It was good to see her and hear about what she was doing. We laughed together about the funny things our students have said to us.

Ethan was so cute with Isaac. He was so helpful, entertaining Isaac when I couldn't pick him up, kissing him on the forehead, and even holding him. Sadly I couldn't get a picture with Isaac and Ethan smiling, this was the best I could do.

I can't even tell you how grateful I am for my sister. Ever since I was little I have adored her and wanted to be just like her. That is true even now. She is such a great mother to her boys, kind to all around her, and a friend to me and so many others. I am so grateful to her and Sam for allowing us to stay in their home. We had so much fun together! I only wish we lived closer to eachother and could spend more time together.

One Year....

On July 10, Kory and I celebrated our one year anniversary! We had such a fun "marathon date" as Kory called it. We started with a dollar movie: X Men Origins: Wolverine. It was such a good movie, sad, but really good and it helps one to understand the other three movies. After the movie we went to Applebees where we did the two for twenty deal. It really was a good deal because they had a decent selection of food, plus we also got an appetizer as part of the deal. Yum! Finally, to finish off the night we saw Jon Schmidt live at the Sandy ampitheater. I loved watching him play the piano, he is so talented! One of the songs he played, which was the first time he ever played it live, was "love song" mixed with "viva la vida". It was so amazing! I happen to like both songs, so that helps as well, but honestly, listen to it and you will know what I mean! What made the concert even more amazing was the sunset. The concert was outdoors and wow! I would definitely recommend a concert at the Sandy ampitheater.

Oh, you might be wondering what Isaac was doing while we were off on our date. Well, he went to the Oquirrh Mountain temple open house with Kory's mom and siblings, and then hung out at Kory's grandparents house until we could go pick him up after the concert.
